DWP urges pension credit claimants to ‘get help’ on council tax and free TV Licences | Personal Finance | Finance
To be eligible for pension credit, claimants must be living in England, Scotland or Wales and have reached state pension age, which is currently sitting at 66 for most people.
When applying for pension credit, a person’s income is calculated and this will include money from employment, other benefits and private pensions.
Aside from the payment top ups, pension credit provides additional support through other benefits and today, the DWP urged claimants to look into this.
The official DWP Twitter account tweeted out the following: “If you get Pension Credit, you could also get help towards your Council Tax, heating costs, and if you’re over 75, a free TV licence.
